SigmaOS Privacy Policy

This privacy notice is to let you know how the SigmaOS application collects and processes your personal information.

This notice provides you with information regarding your rights and explains how, why and when we collect and process your personal data.

What this notice covers

This privacy policy covers the SigmaOS application only and the way we collect, process, and store data as part of the service.

Data collection

Why we collect data

We collect data in order to improve the SigmaOS application, to keep you up to date with the development of SigmaOS, and to send you an invitation to sign up to the service when it's ready.

The data we collect

We collect your name, email address, and the engagement you have with the product. This includes information about when you create workspaces, open pages, and view modals.

We do not track any identifying information linked to your web-activity (history, cookies, url of websites visited, workspace names, etc…) without your explicit consent. All of this information is stored locally on your computer.

Cloud syncing

You can decide to activate cloud syncing of your SigmaOS session so your activity is identical accross different devices. Cloud syncing is deactivated by default.

If you choose to activate cloud syncing, your web-activity data (history, cookies, url of websites visited, workspace names, etc.) will be stored safely and encrypted in SigmaOS’ servers.

This data is only used for the purposes of cloud syncing: restoring your session.

These servers are powered by AWS (Amazon Web Services).

You may delete your data at any point by emailing us at founders@sigmaos.com.

Global transfer and processing

Your personal information may be stored and processed in any country where we operate, or where other companies provide services to us. By submitting your personal information, you're agreeing to let us store it in, and transfer it to these countries.

Software

We use Segment as the service provider in order to collect data. We then use different services to analyse this data:

  • Airtable to set up your account
  • AWS to store your user data
  • Segment for event data collection (no personal data, history, cookies, etc.)
  • Mixpanel and June for data analysis

The way these softwares store and process your data is subject to their Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum.

Data retention

We'll keep your data for the purpose of sending you updates until either we decide to stop sending updates, or you ask us to delete your data by getting in touch at founders@sigmaos.com.

Your marketing preferences

When you sign up for the SigmaOS application, you are opting in to receive updates on our product by email. You can opt out of these email communications at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any message we send to you, or by contacting us at founders@sigmaos.com.

Your rights

Under data protection regulation, you have...

  • the right to be informed about the collection and use of your personal data
  • the right to access the personal data we hold about you via a Subject Access Request
  • the right to correct inaccurate personal data
  • the right to have your personal data deleted
  • the right to request restriction of or suppression of your personal data
  • the right to make use of your personal data for your own purposes across different services
  • the right to object to the processing of your personal data in some circumstances.
